This is your classic escape-the-parks ride out of NYC. About a 60 mile loop from Brooklyn or Jersey City. Stop in either Nyack or Piermont, or keep going up to Bear Mountain if you're feeling fit.
Pick it up from NYC anywhere on the Henry Hudson Greenway Trail. You can’t miss it. Some people jump onto Riverside Drive towards the 80s-90s but either way works.
From the Jersey side you can take Port Imperial & River Road all the way up to the GW bridge. Easy. Just bring a spare and take some air out of your tires for the cracked roads 😂. There are some alternative routes to get to the GW Bridge that we'll share soon.
Take 9W north for a fast smooth ride or River Road for a scenic and hilly more challenging ride. If you’re by yourself, link up with a pace group on the way, there are cyclists out year round!
For this route, stop for coffee at Boxer in Nyack (make a right on N Franklin st from main street you can’t miss it). Fuel up for some hills in the state parks coming back. Enjoy!
Warning: this Strava route has you make a left on the shoulder after S Greenbrush Rd and then a quick left onto Kings Rd - it’s much safer to go against traffic on the shoulder for those 30 yards vs making a left onto the main road and then making a U turn at the light. You’ll know what I mean when you’re there. Stay safe!
